Back to basics

Today I remembered that we have to go slowly. We discussed everyone’s pajamas in the advanced class and worked on a little bit of specific grammar. The fifty minutes went by very quickly, even though I felt that we were going slowly. Suddenly class was over. Hope the kids felt that too.

In the intermediate class, there was a kid who hadn’t slept, because he played video games. He was in his pj’s too (PJ day at school today), so we talked about his sleepless night. All period. Honestly! I stopped a couple of times for little T/F quizzes to keep them on their toes.

In the last group, we learned three New Year’s songs. Wow. I have never had a group learn songs this fast. It helped that they already know most of the words in the songs. We’re having our holiday sing-a-long two Fridays from now, so we have to get ready!

A very relaxing Monday.

    • We learned “In the forest a NY tree,” “Little NY tree,” “Jingle Bells (some weird translation),” and “Success, health, happiness,” to the tune of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” I always tell them that the final one is great for when they grow up and have to wish good things to their hosts at Russian meals.
