Here’s a sweet Russian love song for your listening pleasure. The video would be great for a first MovieTalk session.
I’m going to be out of sight for just another week or so. Once our conference is over (and since we’re putting up the rowing shells for the winter), I will be back at y’all!
Sooooo sweet! Like all old-fashioned Russian songs are:) Reminded me of one of my dad’s favorite poems http://rupoem.ru/pasternak/nikogo-ne-budet.aspx. I hope some of your heritage speakers may have heard some of Pasternak’s poems at home.

This is a beautiful poem! Would you possibly be able to read it for me, so that my advanced kids could use it as a choice for their poem at Olympiada this year?

I would be delighted to do so! As soon as I get over that cold, so your kids can hear true Russian without any nasal sounds;) Let me know what format you prefer. In the meantime, check out this interpretation http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=if5YSXrHP3s&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dif5YSXrHP3s

Oh, my gosh! I love Sergei Nikitin! He’s amazing. I was acquainted with a friend of his about ten years ago, but had missed this song. Thank you!!
I think mp3 would be easiest, if that’s manageable for you. I do all my classroom recordings at this site, under Viewpoints, and then share the url for recordings with my students. If that works for you, it means not sending files:
